Due to the customer's safety concern, we try to clarify the pros and cons of the structure between horizontal and vertical LEDs insertion.
PVC
Safety & Light Flexibility
Dh>Dv Since the distance "Dv"
between the circuit and PVC surface is too close, sometimes the circuit would
expose to the surface easily.

PROS |
CONS |
Horizontal LEDs Insertion |
1. Higher safety standards 2. ease of installation
3. More linear lighting
effects |
1. Slightly unequal LEDs spacing
2. Long
production time |
Vertical LEDs Insertion |
1. Provides more equal spacing between LEDs
2.
Increases flexibility in designs but only slightly |
1. Reduce safety level due to the distance between the LEDs and the outer PVC
2. Light emitted will diminish along the rope body
3. Holes within ropelight will gradually
expand in size when bending and may create air bubbles.
|
Viewing Angle & Lighting Effect
The viewing angle v is small since most light emits outward, perpendicular to the PVC
surface. Contrarily, the light from the slender bulb would refract along the PVC
tube to create linear lighting effect (h >v). The Vertical LEDs are more difficult to install because the rope has to be making sure the rope doesn't twist while the rope are laying it out.
Orange Tree Trade Selection
Due to the higher safety standards and better viewing
angle, Orange Tree Trade selects the horizontal LED insertion rope
light as our main products. |
