Splice Connector Installation:
We provide four kinds of splice connectors for our customers.
Splice Connectors are used for connecting two cut rope light or repairing the burnt section.
Repair a defective section:
Cut the defective section at the cutting marks and rejoin the rope light by a splice connector.
Please refer to the OTT LED rope light modification guide.
Method 1: Screw Type Splice Connector
- Put the spiral nut with thread onto one end of the rope light.
- Insert the splice connector pin into the inner wires of the rope light, and tighten the spiral nut.
- Repeat (a) and (b) on the other section.
(Caution: This way is only for indoor use.)
Method 2: PVC Type Splice Connector
- Insert the connector pin into the rope light. The pin and the rope light must run straightly.
- Place the shrinkable tubing over the rope light.
- Apply sealant (around 3/4 inch long from the end of the rope light) on the rope light. Now push the rope light into the splice connector so that-the connector pins completely insert into the socket.
- Repeat (a), (b), and (c) on the other section.
- Leave the sealant dry before continuing installation.
- Push half of the shrinkable tubing over the power supply connector and half over the rope light and heat it up.
Method 3: Housing Clamp Splice Connector
- Insert the pin into the rope light. The pin and the rope light must run straightly.
- Place the shrinkable tubing over the rope light.
- Connect the pin to the other section.
- Apply sealant on the joint, and leave the sealant dry before continuing installation.
- Push the shrinkable tubing in the center of the joint and heat it up.
- Install the housing clamp and tighten all screws.
Method 4: Easy Type Splice Connector
- Insert the connector pin into the rope light. The pin and the rope light must run straightly.
- Place the shrinkable tubing over the rope light.
- Connector the pin to the other section.
- Apply sealant on the joint, and leave the sealant dry before continuing installation.
- Push the shrinkable tubing in the center of the joint and heat it up.
Notice: Connectors and joints can only withstand a limited amount of mechanical pressure.
